I got a 86 chevy with 350 and I got some new plug wires. It sems the pass side 4,6,8 plug wires rest on the heat shield for the exhaust manifold....surely I dont have the wrong wire set...anyone have any experience on this?

Have you tried routing them under the manifold from around back? I am assuming everything is original? A 350 would mean a 3/4T?
-
are they resting on the heat shield or they are so tight they are stretch across the heat shield

What makes you so sure you have the right set? If they don't match up to the last set than they're not right, right?
-
I agree. Check them against the old ones, providing the old ones clear everything.

I've had this problem with wires from advance auto parts.
