Hey forum. Picked up and 87 long bed 4x4 with a 4speed tranny for cheap. The guy I bought it form started swapping from the 87' TBI 350 to Carb'd 350. He already had the motor in and running so thats not a big deal. What I am trying to figure out now is two different things.
1. When the key is turned off, the fuel pumps keep running.
2. What wiring can I get rid of from under the hood to help clean things up. I want to make it look as good as possible under there and not have all the crap layin around.

1. does it still have the intank pump? if so it could be the relays or wiring. see this discussion: http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/smforum/index.php/topic,24740.0/topicseen.html
Are you running a regulator for the carb?
2. If the pump is still working you have to keep that portion of the wiring, it is controlled by the ignition being switched on. A carb motor only needs power to the coil and the distributor, the other wiring you may want is the oil pressure, and water temp.
