Title: Hold on the grill
Post by: Crosslybobo on October 26, 2012, 03:25:54 am
Hi everybody got another question. Me and a buddy are working on his 88 burb. He got a new grill. For some reason the burb is missing the lower mounting hardware for the grill. All the stuff to mount the top of the grill to the truck is there. But when you go to attach the bottom of the grill- thats what we aint got. What all goes down there and where to get?

What style do you have, can you post a picture?  I have my 85 all apart to compare if it is like this.

Not sure just a 88 burb, i do know he got the grill off classic truck parts of america website. I can say this, it looks to be the exact same as my 86 sivlerado grille. I cant tell any differnce from the outside

My guess is all those grills were the same for many years. Its just a little tab that sticks off to the side, of the very bottom of the grill. Its got a hole in it for something kind of hardware to go through. Maybe its the exact same as what holds the grill on top? Which would be those little white things that you can stick a screw through

The tab im talking about points towards the headlights and its on the very bottom. Should be easy to visualize if you got yours all apart already. So its like there are 4 places that hold it on the top, but only 3 that hold it on the bottom. We are looking for what holds the outer two to the burb.

Little square white push tabs that the same screws that hold the top in thread into after going through the holes in the tabs your talking about. Same as the middle bottom screw but it goes up through from the bottom.

there is a metal piece that runs across below the grill behind the bracket and a centre support sticks out towards the front of the truck from the lower rad support and the screw goes up from the bottom into the grill
and behind the headlight surround there is a tab on the grill that a screw goes down through

Various vendors have exploded views of grill parts like that (among other parts) you should be able to see what your missing fairly easy

The site owner has other parts not listed in the store, just ask him.
