Post by: winky on October 27, 2012, 10:52:28 pm
Going to attempt to put upper console out of a 98 blazer in my truck. Why? I like the lights and fancy temp and compass haha :) a buddy gave me the console so why not?

Got it home and figured out the wiring

It works!

I like the look and lights on this one so I'm going to shorten it and use it.  Removing the cd holder part

Wish I had lol! I had the lights in front and back plus the main one so it wouldn't even fit in the cab. I'm don't modifying it any ways now lol.

Blahhhhhh........  Hooked it all up.... Everything works but after about 45 seconds the temp goes to -- anyone had this happen or have any ideas?

Probably a dumb question but you did grab the temp sensor too right?

yup, sorry not trying to grave digg here. haven't been on in a while. just wanted to say that on the newer consoles and the one ones with the fuel trim etc you need the signal from the ecu to tell it how often to update,if you dont it defaults to that one direction and the temp goes blank. hopefully this will help any one else that ever trys this
