That works at the local prefab home building place.
I get a load of KD scrap wood pretty much any time I want. I text him to see if they have a good size pile, take a ride over there at quiting time, and load up the truck. Today he had a pallet all stacked up. Loaded it right in the truck with the Lull. I almost got back to the shop without the stack tipping over. I had to tun around, and pick up about 40 pieces off the edge of the road! Next time I'm taking my shrink / strech wrap with me!
Free heat is good!

I used to do that at the local roof truss-making plant. There was a scrap bin outside the plant where you could always get a load of free truss tails that had been trimmed off. Free is always good!

They have a 40 yard dumpster they put down by the road, but its all the scrap, even the stuff with nails in it coming back from jobs. The guy I know lets me know when there is a crap load of all similar size stuff. I drive right up in behind the building and load it. This time he had it all on a pallet for me, but no sides!
They heat the building with their scraps too. They had a boiler built that takes two pallets at a time, pallets, and all. They use the scrap plywood build sides on the palettes about 4' tall, load them up, and when the furnace needs to be filled they slide two palettes into it with a fork truck, or lull.

I wondered what you meant by lull. It's clear down to 50 here in TN... I had the Buck stove going last night... 8) Wife was mad- it got too hot for her.

The "lull" is what he loaded it with, has to be some kind of lift or he misspelled. Lol

A Lull is an off road fork lift. Has a telescoping boom, 4 wheel drive, and 4 wheel
steering.
