A selectable turbo charger. Ive been thinking about turbo charging my suburban, but then I started thibking about mad max's selectable super charger. So, im wondering if with the use of electric dumps if I could make a turbo system, selectable. Have the exhaust from the heads enter tghe electric dump, then from there have one side of the dump go through the turbo and the otger side of the dump lead into the exiting side of the turbo. What do you think?

Why? What are you trying to accomplish?

I know its kind of pointless and a waste of money/time. But I thought it would be pretty cool to have. Kind of a "sleeper". You can race somebody with them off and lose, then flip a switch and beat them with turbos.
-
Manual override on the wastegate will do exactly that.

Awesomeness!
-
Hmmmmm... But how easy would that be? Is there any way to do an electric waste gate?
-
Generally they are electric, you would just have to add another circuit for a manual override of the dump, the ecu will auto correct the a/f ratio weather under boost or not.
-
Ecu as in the stock one for my tbi? This sounds like something I would like to pursue if so.
-
no you'll need to either upgrade to something like EZ EFI or Pro Flo to be able to run boost, stock ecu won't work as far as I know, plus it only has one fuel map.

If you really want to do it Madmax style,
You should weld a rocket to the bed and have a big red swith to drop the tailgate and activate. LOL

And two 55 gallon drums. And a killswitch/self destruct that looks like a doll.
