so im considering swapping to a manual trans in my truck. i've got a th400 and 208 tcase right now. i know that the 2wd trans on both use the same driveline yoke. so my question is can i swap a get rag 5 speed in with the existing tcase? i dont do alot of hard wheeling,mostly just around town driving so id really like a 5 speed rather than the granny 4 speed

The only 5 speed that will easily swap (as in parts are available easily) is the NV4500.

well i was askin cause in my area an nv 4500 is a super rare item. but in the yards around here there are a few getrags available for a decent price

All the trucks with the NV3500 trans has the drop on the opposite side.  If you use a 208 on the back is should bolt where the 241 was...
