Title: Gauge Question
Post by: sonicbluezx3 on November 18, 2012, 08:18:33 pm
I am wanting to do something similar to this: http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/smforum/index.php/topic,24709.0.html

However, I don't want to put the gauges in the dash bezel. I will make a bracket for them to fit in place of the stock gauges. My question is simple this time... what size are the factory gauges?

the 4 in the corner are about 2 1/16 inch.

The gauges themselves don't have a "size" as they are a cluster, are you asking what size the hole is for the Bezel?

This is the best option as far as DIY gauges go...

Trust me, I have made several attempts to simplifying this and it just doesn't get any better.

Well I was going to try to make the aftermarket gauges sit where the factory gauges are by making a plate for them. Would that not work?

There are several compound angles and bends to make it work.  Look at the raw images of the Dakota setup.
