Title: Throttle/TV Cable question
Post by: rockable on November 20, 2012, 02:32:41 pm
I just put a new crate engine in my 86 and while doing so, I installed an Edelbrock Performer non EGR intake manifold and Edelbrock Performer carb with B&M TV adapter.  I installed the OEM throttle cable/tv cable bracket only to find that the tv cable does not line up.  I should have known.

What kind of bracket is available to fit this that will work with no fuss?  I am ready to drive this sucker and quit working on it.

The good news is that I have no leaks and the engine runs great, so far.

Thanks for your help..

Bunch of post on this, but don't drive it without it being connected if its a 700R4 Overdrive:

Thanks, Capt.  I knew better than to drive it much.

Yowser!  She is running like a champ!  That old 305 never ran this good.  The base crate engine was a nice upgrade.  BTW,  I used an Edelbrock carb, intake and Edelbrock 8031 bracket.  I still had to add a 1" spacer to the bracket to get the cables in line with the carburetor linkage.  Go figure.
