Ok so the truck I have(81 c10) came with factory air, but it didnt work, and honestly I dont care to have it. I havent had Ac in a vehicle for over 10 years why start now?
So I was told I need to cut the section of the firewall from a non Ac cab. but I am not sure what else? I want to switch out my in dash heat selector to a non Ac version as well.
what all would I be looking at needing to do this?
Has anyone else done this that could shoot me some advice? Really hate the way the Ac stuff "cluttered" the engine bay.
Thanks.

Check out this page of my build thread.

I had an AC cab to put on my truck rebuild, but I didn't want AC on the truck.
I just modified the firewall a bit and it works perfectly.
Just let me know if you need any other information.

Just install an ac delete heater box. You can leave everything else as is. The interior looks and breathes better with the vents in tact.

I just started a new topic on this , I didn't look down the threads until after I asked this question. Sounds like I can either weld and cut the hole for the heater core without AC or just use the Heater core minus the AC parts on my AC cab that will not have AC.
