Im trying to switch a 1993 chevy 355 from tbi to carb.. And i know i need the carb and a new intake but im concerned with the distributor.. Idk if im gonna have to get a new one that will work for the connections on the 85 silverado because i do not have the wiring harness or computor for the 93 z71 the engine came out of. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thankyou

The 1993 distributor will not work in your '85.
Get an older fat cap HEI out of a '75~'86 truck, and all should be good. They are everywhere, and cheap. :)

Ok thats what i figured thankyou.. The engine i have in my truck now is an older 350 around the 80's so i was woundering if i could just pull that distributor out and put it in the 93 engine? I just dont know if the gear and rod would work for the 93 engine.. Thanks for the help

It will drop right in. Clean and inspect it well though, check for play between the shaft, and housing. It should little to none. If it has play I would look for a better used, or a new one.
