Ok so I have a th350 that has been making noise and slipping so it need to be replaced. I got a quote for a beefed up 700r4 tranny for towing at $2000 out the door installed with everything I need. However, I found a guy on craiglist with a 2000 chevy wrecked with the nv3500 bolted to a 4.3 with 85k on it for $500 with the transmission, clutch, hydraulics basically everything I need except for the v8 flywheel and high hump transmission tunnel.
Now my questions/concerns ::)
Will this transmission hold up to a stock 350 with mild towing say 2 tons? I plan on building the soon as well
Would I need to change the tunnel?
What else would I possibly need for the swap? After getting all the parts-flywheel, tunnel, pedal assembly and a shop install, would I be better off going with the hopped up 700r4 or the nv3500?

I think it would be better with the nv3500. But ive have always wanted a stick shift in there anyways. Anyone have any experience with this I need to buy it soon.

Found out it will fit my low hump tunnel, barely, but will work. What flywheel should I use? I got an 85 motor, made in mexico. Does anyone know if they make reproduction 85-91 hydraulic clutch pedal assemblies? I checked and came up with nothing. ???

this is what I want to do to my 82 gmc,I found out that GM had a hydraulic clutch setup in some 85 thru 87 chevy and gmc pickups that will work for the clutch setup.Not sure about the rest.I plan on doing this swap when I get all the parts

I know of no aftermarket repro of the hydraulic clutch setups. It is salvage only item. Of course several companies make hydraulic setups.
