Title: new guy from Indiana
Post by: rhino on January 19, 2013, 04:28:22 pm
I just wanted to say Hi. Im new to this forum.  A little about myself. Im married  with three kids.  I love to build and restore old chevy trucks and when Im done I usually sell them for profit, Then use the money to do another.  However this time I am building a 88 1 ton crew cab for my wife. She has always like the square bodies trucks but we need a 4 door car for all the kids. so I suggested a crew-cab.  she thought it would be a great Idea. so here we are.  Right now, Im about  60-70% percent done with it. Iv rebuilt the chassis, adding rear disc brakes. Iv cut and re-welded the frame for the shortbed. I cut and modified the floor pan to install 03 Power leather seats from a Tahoe. I done all my own paint and body work. Right now Im finishing up the interior, adding power windows and locks where there was none before. Im also putting in a Double DIN nav unit in the center vent area of the dash. And when thats all done I will start on rebuilding the engine and Trans.  Im looking forward to spending some time on this forum and see what new and cool ideas people are coming up with.

Thanks for the welcome guys. Since Im new around here. and you guys like photos. I have lots and lots of photos of the build. where is a good place to post them. Is there a build thread section?  As far as the engine goes. Im rebuilding a little 5.7.  My goal is 20 mpg. I know it might be a stretch. but I have a few little goodies I think might help. Its funny, my machinist that bored the block said I should be able to it. but my cylinder head guy says I wont be able to so will see who is right.

As for pictures of your build go to 73 - 87 section, under members rides start a build thread and post your pictures there.
