Title: 84 C10 LWB Swap - 1968 472 Cadillac
Post by: CanadianC10 on January 23, 2013, 04:48:15 pm
Truck has mentioned about with power adders, should put out around 525 ftlbs of torque, and 400 horse, plan on drag racing, truck currently has a 3.08:1 open diff 10 bolt, I scrapped a 83 4x4 with 3.41:1 S-spring limited slip, can someone tell me if the limited slip will hold up in the quarter mile?

street tires or slicks?  If it is a factory Gov-Loc it will eventually break and they usually take out everything.

I know the 10 bolts are considered a bit weak for heavy off road use. Will a stock one hold up to racing?

depends on what you mean by hold up?  Full on drag car or weekend special.  10bolt should handle alot of abuse but everything has their breaking point.
If you are putting down 800hp, on slicks and it is biting, eventually the 10bolt will die.
