Hello everyone! My name is Sam. I am a computer guy by day and now a proud classic Chevy owner (and mechanic by night). I will start by saying that I know little to zero about cars(I can change oil and filters, and I am otherwise handy, but I digress), which is why I went with something old enough that I could take apart and put back together without worrying about computers and emissions controls and all of that stuff. I had a 2010 Texas Edition, but economical constraints convinced me to trade it in on a Chevy Cruze(insert sad sigh here). Great little car, but I am 6'2" 330 lbs and a native Texan. Little cars just don't cut it. So, I decided to try and find an older truck / project. Boy did I! I found this 81 Stepside on Craigslist and got a really good deal for a truck in the conditition that it's in running. I'll post more pics later in the Members Rides, but I totally plan to finish this thing out and make it something more special than it already is.
Stats:
1981 Chevy C-10 Custom Deluxe Stepside
305 V8, Edelbrock Carb
Brand new (like zero miles new) automatic 4 speed w/column shifter
Flowmaster on stock manifolds and pipes
Body: Minor dent on the passenger door, a very few rust spots except for the bumpers, primer gray paint(for now)
Interior: New Carpet, New Dash Pad, New Seat(or seat cover at least), manual windows and locks
Anyway, that's it for now. I'll keep everyone posted on my progress and post some pictures of the interior and the rest of the truck as soon as I get it put back together(replacing instrument bulbs, cleaning up gauges, already torn the steering column down and tightened it)

Welcome from east tenn. like the truck. My first truck was a step side and I still have a soft spot for the step side bed. I may even try to find one for my truck. Good luck.
