So I just got my dads 1986 Chevy c10 running after sitting in a field. Gas tank was replaced, exhaust was fixed and tires replaced and she seems to run pretty good except a little high revving(believed choke problem) and the trans shifts roughly. I'm just wondering what I should do to it to make sure it runs the best it can? Also any help or suggestions on the problems.

Tranny problem? start with the standard changing the pan filter and put in new fluids. Honestly the best thing to do, is just drive it... as long as lug nuts are tight, brakes works, start putting some miles on the ole girl she'll tell ya what she needs.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Sounds like a plan, thanks!
