Title: Pace performance gm 350 crate engine
Post by: Magic1 on February 23, 2013, 09:08:38 pm
So I've finally got back in gear fixing my gmc sierra and I'm going with a new crate engine. Not looking for a high hp motor, just one that's dependable and reliable. I've looked at the goodwrench 260 hp 350 and noticed this one on paces website. From what ive read on the net it looks like its got a nice cam and come with an edelbrock performer intake which is what I was gonna use anyway. Anyone have any input either way. I had thought about rebuilding the engine ive got now but it's a worn out goodwrench 350 and I figured I may as well go with new since ill get the warranty and stay on budget.

Sounds like you are looking for a ok engine, and the warr, and within your budget makes it a winner.  You said you checked around and did not see any negative results on the web, I say go for it.

If warranty is an issue, check what is required.  I don't know what is required on GM crates, but I've seen some warranty's where it must be installed by an approved shop...(not necessarily GM's warranty, but you may want to check.) Local GM dealer also may be able to price match and save you a couple bucks on shipping.
I almost went with that engine, but funds dried up,
