Through the years GMC has used trim levels from Sierra, High Sierra, Sierra Grande, Sierra classic. Specific to the 1987 year model does anyone have knowledge of what levels were used and the differences. Comparatively Chevy had Custom Deluxe, Scottsdale, and Silverado.
-
I know it's the Chevy website but I assumed there may be some knowledgable GMC folks?
-
In all that I have seen, pretty much anything went in 1987 due to the new model year change over in 1988, especially the truck plants that just made the regular cab pickups.
-
I was curious to the trim level difference, which level was "highest" versus entry level etc.

Base model - Chevy Custom Deluxe/GMC Sierra
Z62 - Chevy Scottsdale/GMC High Sierra (Note this change)
Z84 - Discontinued
YE9 - Chevy Silverado/GMC Sierra Classic

Thanks zieg!! Yea I bet most anything went on in 87 with whole new "changing of the guard" would be interesting to talk to some of the factory workers from that time frame I'm sure they would have some stories no doubt

The trim levels are the same RPO as found on Jeff's site. The names were just specific to the GMC vs Chevy.
-
Capt basically what your saying is regardless of the make the same options were available
-
Yes, both GMC and Chevy trim levels were identical down to the RPO number.
