i just got a complete power window harness off a 88 suburban, i have a 82 pickup. i cut the wires going to the back doors, i should be able to use this harness for my conversion right? also where can i locate the board that the switch plugs into at the doors? thanks in advance.

What do you mean the board that the switch plugs into? The door panel?
-
The deal that the wires connect to behind the door panel and that the switch pushes into.
-
The plug at the end of the wiring? Didn't someone post something about this recently?

Good memory!!!
In addition to the linked thread above...
The burb master switch is a 4-button. You'll need a 2-button switch with matching pigtail (the 'board' to which you refer). That said, you should cull the unused wires from your harness and choose the pigtail based on the switch you're going to use, for example, a PT188 or PT546 (http://www.acdelcotechconnect.com/pi/wiring-connectors/gm/pigtails/6-cavity/female/) ACDelco for mid-80s vintages. (There may be other sources for the pigtail, as well). Do your research and procure your parts before you start cutting.
For a mid-80s wiring diagram, go to our Technical Pages (http://www.73-87chevytrucks.com/techinfo/wiring_diagrams/powerwindows.gif). Of course, there's also model-specific information (http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/smforum/index.php/topic,25639.msg213706.html#msg213706) in the Technical Pages, but they are large files - be patient while they download (1-3 minutes, apiece). Good luck with your project.
