This piece I am holding came out of my door. Can I put this back in or do I have to do something else. It feels like it goes on an arm that connects to another arm. (86 chevy truck, power windows)

It is hard to see, (Picture quality) but if you are holding a plastic wheel around the size of a nickel those are riveted on. I have a PW regulator I will take a picture of and post later today. I have never tried to fix one.
-
Some places have repair pieces for those but they are few and far between. They weren't riveted on though, they are basically flared over to make them stay.

Dorman P/N-74430 may work for you; available in the Motormite "Help" section of many parts houses. Take the old roller with you as a sample for comparison.
-
It is a roller then? Pic is small but it's all metal and looks to have a screw head on one side but you cannot turn it.
-
As zieg85 wrote, the picture is too small for clear detail, but it is the right size and shape for a roller. Generally, rollers are nylon around a metal axle.
-
Yeah, it has that screw like head on it but I cannot turn it....I bought the generic "help" section door rollers...have not had a chance to attempt to fix it as of yet....thanks

my 86 chevy truck power window on drivers side stopped working. The window motor is good, but it was like in the bottom of the door, and it looks like a roller broke off that attaches one arm to another arm.
I put a picture of the roller in another post. But it was a metal piece with a Phillips head looking screw that does not move. I put a picture below of where I think its supposed to be connected. I am totally confused on what the part is called I need. I bought a "help" section window roller kit, but I don't think that's the parts I need.
Also I am confused on how I had the motor attached. As said it was just laying at the bottom of the door.
Any help would be appreciated..

Hard to tell what you are taking a picture of, but if the original picture is of a plastic piece like what was linked above it goes on the end of the arms.
you can see them here:

I think that middle piece is what broke on mine...not the ending pieces...its all just so confusing.
-
If the scissor-joint rivet (hinge pin) that fastens the two arms together in the middle fell out, you may be able to remove the regulator assembly, reinsert the rivet, peen it and tack-weld it in place. Just remember, it is a hinge and the arms need to be able to move. Otherwise, you'll need to replace the regulator.

So i got it fixed. It was the little rivet that fell out. I had a buddy tack weld it back in, along with the other one that was about to fall out too. All is well now. Thanks.
