I have a 1975 C10 with a 3 speed manual on the column transmission. A while back it started freezing up changing gears while stopped so that I had to get under the hood and lift up on one of the linkages to get it unfroze. Then, it froze up completely where I couldn't get it to move period.
I went online looking for new linkages and what not but the only thing I could find was buying the whole steering column used for $200. I'm not a big fan of column shifters anyways, and really don't want to buy a used column and maybe end up right back where I am in a year or so, so I went looking to switch the shifter from the column to the floor.
I found a shifter no problem, but am having a real problem finding the linkages. I was told by several different mechanics that conversion kits were easy to find. But extensive searches on the net haven't been able to find anything. And today I checked the local auto parts stores and they have nothing either. Plenty of automatic transmission conversion kits, but nothing for manual.
So, before I head to a junk yard I thought I see if anyone here knew of a place that I could still get a conversion kit at. 75 c10 with a 350 engine.
Thank ya.

The linkages from the shifter to the transmission shift levers are included in the Hurst kit.

Also remember you get what you pay for. The cheap floor shifters for the 3 speeds are a waste of time. they jamb up similar to the worn out column shifter. Spend the money and buy a Husrt with the linkage included.
My personal opinion is if you can find the parts to rebuild the column shifter that is the way to go.
