This is one of the times in everyone's life where a decision needs to be made. Is money more important or your time. I have spent days looking for a part like a filler tube that would work, only to end up spending the $40.00 because in the end that is what was available.

Lol a slow moving project sometimes doesnt need a quick decision made in my case anyways(cant get the steel filler at all, and was only referring to the rubber hose price because that's all i had found!)...just putting it out looking for assitance is all Bake.

Here's what I'm trying to do. I have a 74 Chevy k10 short bed with dual tanks. I just got a bed off of an 80 Chevy. But someone patched in the hole for the driver side fuel fill neck. So I'm needing to to find an aftermarket fuel fill neck housing and cut a hole in the bed panel for it. But I'm not having much luck finding them.

I do remember someone posting about getting a filler neck off a diesel truck that works real good because it is oversized.

Wow interesting, my 82 has the Drivers Side Filler neck all messed up, it seems DOD (dear ol' dad) modified it to run leaded fuel back in the day, not a huge problem it still holds fuel and fills it's just a pain at the pump

I doubt someone patched in the hole, the trucks that did not have dual tanks, only had one filler door on the bed, and I am pretty sure the door was always on the passenger side when there is only one tank. I would say it will prob be easy just to find a bed with two door, once you find one that works weld it all in and make sure the filler neck fits to it, be easier just to get one with dual doors. Just my $.02

I agree, way easier to get a dual door bed..
