Will the front hubs off a 1976 pickup fit a 1982 pickup.They both have the 1 1/4 thick rotors.thanks
-
check bearing sizes......i know my 79 hubs have heavier duty bearings which require bigger spindle mounts.

The '76 should be a dana 44 and the '82 should be a 10 bolt. The hubs will not swap between these axles. The only thing that will swap is the steering knuckles.

Forgot to mention that my truck is 2 wheel drive.Front rotors are shot, appears they are made on to hub.
thanks
-
rotors arent made onto hub.....they are bolted on.

I have had a hub off my 1982 and can`t find any bolts, looks like one piece.Haven`t looked at the 1976 ones yet.
where are the bolts located?

4x2: the rotor attached to a spindle. It is held on with a large nut that is under the cap on the rotor.

Thanks for the information.
I got a new front rotor installed on my truck and learned a few things about Chevy 2WD fullsize trucks 1973-1987 .
First they use a hub and rotor assembly,it is all one piece,if you have a bad rotor you change it all,the rotor does not bolt on .
Second they only used 2 spindle and rotor conbinations, light duty with a 1 inch thick rotor.Heavy duty with 1 1/4 thick rotor.A heavy duty rotor will not work on a light duty spindle,it is a little to wide, the cottor pin hole in spindle will be covered.A light duty rotor will not work on a heavy duty spindle,it is to narrow and spindle nut will go in to far.
The brake pads will interchange .
This is the info I got and when I found a light duty rotor ,it fit.
I have several parts trucks and they all had heavy duty, mine was light duty,so I just got a new one.
Guess that is the way it goes, you never have what you need. And if you toss something ,you will need it tomorrow.

the rotor and bearings come off together after you loosen the nut that holds them to the spindle. yes, they arent like Hondas where the rotor itself can be detached from the hub. I myself have the heavy duty hub and rotor combo. only use Timken bearings when you replace hubs.
