Title: Speedometer recalibration
Post by: FOOSE on May 02, 2013, 11:51:58 pm
Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone knows if I can get some sort of device to recalibrate my mechanical speedometer, I'm building an '83 Chevrolet Silverado with a 700R4 tranny, for now i'll stick with the factory gauges, but I changed the gears to 4:10 gear ratio, the truck is not drivable yet so I can not test drive it, any info will be much appreciated! :D

Thanks

There are speedo gear-ratio adapters such as the ones found on this site:

You can change the driven and drive gears for the speedo or you can sometimes add an adapter.

Its a 2wd and i'll have 22" wheels in the back and 20" in the front, the tire size in the back will probably be 285/40/22, making the tire about 31" in height.

Thanks ehjorten! that site helped a lot!! :D
