My recently acquired 87 Silverado developed a ticking noise on acceleration that had me a little worried that I had loose rocker, bad lifter etc.  I searched the forum and found some references to exhaust leaks causing a ticking sound.  Crawled under the truck and sure enough, the exhaust pipe was very loose at the manifold connection. Previous owner put on dual exhaust and the drivers side had worked loose. Anyway, tightened it up and ticking gone. I NEVER would have guessed this tick was exhaust. Now, if i can just figure out whats making the squeak in the drivers side front!  Maybe a shock bushing. Thanks again guys!

What have you done to search for the squeak?  When does it occur?

Try Silikroil on the shock and shackle bushings.  It'll walk itself in there.  You can get it at Amazon.  Also works really well on hood hinges and door hinge pins and door detent rollers and springs.

I can hear the squeak with the drivers window down. It sounds like it is coming from the drivers side wheel well. I've soaked all he suspension components with silicone spray, so far to no effect. I can not make the squeak by bouncing the front end up and down. It only happens when the car is moving 10-30 mph on a slightly rough road.

Try lubing the sway bar bushings with some silicone grease.
