I put in a new wiper motor and washer pump unit because washer pump didn't work and now washer pump doesn't shut off it sprays every time I put on wipers I already replaced the wiper switch but that did nothing. How can I fix this issue? I can't drive through a storm with all my washer fluid spraying in first two min of the storm. His is a 1985 Chevy c60 it has two speed wipers please help me I am horrible wiring and this is my work truck. Sorry for punctuation and thank you in advance, stenny

the washer up ( on the wiper motor ) if that's the same as my 78, the n the gears going to the washer pump is warn out or broke. at least That is the problem with mine.

It's brand new... Well reman just came from auto parts store.. I figured it was a wiring issue

Turn the ignition and wipers on then unplug the washer pump 2-wire connector. If the pump stops within 13 strokes, since you've already replaced the dash switch check for a grounded wire between the washer pump and the dash switch. If the pump continues to operate for more than 12 strokes, there's a problem with the ratchet gear mechanism and you should take the pump back for warranty exchange.

Ok that's what I wanted to know how to go about figuring this out thank you I will check that out today

So I disconnected both wires so only thing left connected was the wiper motor and it still sprayed lol soo am returning it tomorrow
