Hello everyone,

A few google searches have led me to your site. I wanted register, introduce myself and post up a few pics of my project. Although not an 73-87, it does have an 84 stepside bed and an 86-95 roller cam four bolt 350ci.

My '04 Silverado:

The 350ci is bored .040" over, the H345NCP pistons sit .004" from deck. The heads are Patriot "Vortec" with 190cc runners, 2.02"/1.6" valves & 64cc chambers. Comp beehive springs, 1.6:1 roller rockers and a Comp XR276HR-10. 10.7:1 Professional Products RPM Air-Gap copy and a Might Demon 750cfm annular booster carb. The dist is set up with 14 degree initial, 36 mechanical max @ 3200rpm with vacuum advance on manifold for an idle timing of 27 degrees.

 I am getting ready to pull the heads off and replace them with a better aluminum head.

2800rpm stall converter, built 4L65 spec transmission with a manual valve body. 4.10:1 rear gears in the original 10 bolt with a Powertrax lunchbox locker.

The bed is still a work in progress, has only been mounted for a couple of days now. So far I think it's an interesting look, it maintains that muscle truck look and really has a custom vibe. For the most part the body lines seem to flow well. The center belt line of the cab goes into the rear wheel well line. Even the short wheel wells have a custom "Skirt" vibe.

Thanks to your forum I was turned onto the Mar-K roll pan and smooth tailgate skin. Still working on those bits, I feel it helps to modernize the bed to work on the newer body.

Smooth/shave over the fuel doors, the cab vents and make filler panels for where the bed was clearanced for the leaf spring shackles. Then off to body prep and paint. I am thinking of staying with a nice metallic silver, however a sunburnt orange copper would be cool too. And of course a better wheel and tire combo to bring it all together.

The truck originally had a 4.3L V6. I purchased it new in '05 from a dealer in Northern Cali as a stripped down work truck trim

Then the sbc swap makes sense, lol! Where abouts in Nor Cal? Thats my old stomping grounds.

I grew up in Novato, hung out between Santa Rosa and San Fran. The truck was purchased in Petaluma from that Chev dealer off the 101.

Thats crazy! I'm from Sonoma, lived in Petaluma, Rohnert Park, Santa Rosa. Used to hit Phylis' in Novato.
