Title: starter w/ headers

my starter is going bad and before i get into replacing it, i see its kinda sitting in tight with my headers that i have on.

before i even get to take a closer look i wanted to know from anyone that has replaced their starter with headers on if there were any issues?

Mine came with cheapo headers(don't know the name)and they are close, cooling lines are under the starter could be tight getting it out but shouldn't have to take the headers off though, have Doug Thorleys on my big block and had plenty room to take the starter out.

Be sure to disconnect the battery.  R&R should be relatively straight forward. 

Make sure you don't have any exhaust leaks in the starter area.  In fact, you may want to wrap a heat shield around the new starter to help extend its life.  An example of one that's versatile and easy to install is manufactured by DEI (P/N-010402), available from Summit (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/dei-010402), JEGS (http://www.jegs.com/i/DEI/186/010402/10002/-1), et al.
