Hows everyone doing, im new to this site so bear with me, still trying to figure it out. I have a 77 k10 with a big block and 4 inch lift, recently ive been looking for an attitude change with a cowl hood, ive heard mixed results on the arguement of fiberglass vs steel, but im going with steel. With that being said, ive found 2 inch steel hoods all over the internet, there easy to find. I was curious if anyone knew of a site/place/etc where i can purchase a 3 or 4 inch steel cowl hood, or do most people make them? If not are there fiberglass hoods that size? While im here, in the far future ill be doing a trans swap from my granny gear to a more momentum transferring trans, any suggestions? Id like another stick and a buddy mentioned the t56, but i wasnt sure if the truck would be too heavy for those gears, or if the trans bolted up/had a different bellhousing adapter for a big block. if all fails ill go with a muncie 4 speed, but figured id ask. Sorry for writing book, any help will be beneficial thanks.

Ok, so from that forum it seems as if bigger than two inch will be fiberglass, any idea where to find one 2 inch cowls are cool but I want a bigger one. As for the trans yes it's a465 and it's a dog, I don't use my truck for Mudding so it's irrelevant to me I want to start generating power.

I want to start generating power.
Not sure what you mean here. That 454 ought to give you plenty of power. I assume you are running larger tires with your lift. Do you know what gear ratio you have in your differentials? A simple gear swap may do a lot toward providing better performance especially if running larger tires.
