Title: Experienced Square Body Truck Restorers
Post by: turbodoc on June 25, 2013, 02:24:56 pm
Anyone have a list of shops in the Continental US that restore 73-87 Chevrolet trucks on a daily basis? I am looking for shops experienced in Body, Drive Train, Electrical, etc. Complete restorers. Thanks

I doubt there is but sure would be interesting to know.  Problem is, big bucks restoration is costly and these trucks while gaining in popularity still aren't big money when it is all said and done with.  I think there is enough know how on this forum to gain any knowledge you need and body work is body work.  Replacement panel quality varies but Chris (Captkaos) the site owner sells quality stuff if you need it.  I've torn apart enough of these to be dangerous as many have here.  These trucks are easy to work on and a lot of stuff interchanges throughout the 73-91 years and luckily there is still a lot of them still out there.

There may be a select number of places that customize these, but specializing in them for just restoration is going to be hard to find.  I dont think you will find any place that restores ONLY 73-87's as they aren't quite as much demand for them for collectors.

I know Cheyenne pickup restores some on their own time.
Hill Hot Rods does a lot of customizing for these.

I have done several custom builds of our trucks over the years varying from driver, to work truck, and one restoration on an 81 C10 short bed where there was a budget, but money was not really the main concern so long as it was restored to factory original.
