Hello from Minnesota. First time poster and complete noob. Here is my newly acquired truck. I'm in love! This baby has motivated me to learn as much as i can about this truck and how to maintain it, that's how i got here.

87 Chevy Silverado 5.7 350

like those rims! I have the same ones on my 93 k1500 and wanted to put them on my k5 blazer but seems no one carries them anymore

nice truck, but why would someone bolt steps to a area thats prone to rust?

That's what I was thinking.

Also you have a pic of the back....I am curious how you have the bars on the bed and a toneau cover, have not seen that before.

Hmmmmmm.....that's interesting looks like they used a newer tonneua cover as they are not as wide. Somehow they made I ledge for it to sit on, kind of a cool idea so you can have the bars or ladder rack and a tonneau cover.

looks like you guys will be seeing pictures of my engine also. I found out i have a crack in my cylinder head.

Question: what do you guys think about having someone weld and grind the crack so i can reuse the head?



I will post some pictures later today that show the cover edge.

not bad, takes up some room but its not made to be on there when you working with your truck. but about the head, dont waist time welding a head because you have to get it flush. i would think about upgrading heads while you have to replace it anyway. search craigs list some people build up heads just to loose interest in it then sell them. or even buy heads off summit or something like them. how did you find this crack?
