Finally found my tool for pulling the tilt pins out of colums and got mine taken apart in the 77 k5. Found that the upper most bearing was completely Mia except for one lone ball bearing. I was wondering if anyone knew where or if even you could get the upper most bearing for the column. Have tried looking everywhere including the local dealership and nothing came up. Any help would be great as my 93 k1500 needs the same bearing. just a few pics of what unfolded.
I also pulled the 4 torx bolts out and put some red on it and fixed the loose tilt problem.

and looks like I need the upper most shaft as it looks like the P/o drove it with a shot bearing for quite some time.

Looking into getting the bearings next week, still have to get the race and crown for it. think ill try to find a junk yard to get the lock plate and lock plate clip. as they are mia in mine
-
I know people that have used these guys and some are on this fourm: http://gmtiltsteeringcolumn.com/

I checked him out and even sent him an email about rebuilding my column. though the whole thing was trashed but just the upper most bearing is missing on this one. Their prices arent bad at all but gonna do this one on my own and probably have them rebuild the column in my k1500, as I can't find a std column anywhere for the dang thing.

lol i was lucky to find one in the junk yard no tilt but at least it didnt look out of place. then i climbed up into it and hit my knee on it and broke part of the cover
-
that sucks, Yeah ive searched around here and found nothing, so just gonna have to rebuild it myself and call it good.
-
i had to replace my whole entire steering wheel column and i couldn't find one that was in my price range so i went to a salvage yard and pulled one off of a dogde
-
finally got the bearings, lock plate, spring, all that stuff in the mail and got the column back together with a new grant wheel. So much nicer not having the steering wheel flop all over the place.
