Title: Power Window
Post by: harvey85 on July 21, 2013, 06:27:34 pm
How can I tell if I have a bad window switch or motor? When I push the switch either up or down I can hear a click at the motor. Before I go tearing into it I would like to know for sure.

Did it just stop working? Or has it never worked? Sounds like your switch works. You can un plug the motor and check the harness plug for power when pressing switch. Not sure how many volts these trucks get with the voltage drops due to wiring. You could also shoot power to the motor with jumper wires and see if it works. There is the possibility that your regulator could b jammed as well.

I have had the truck for about two months and it has never worked. For knowledge's sake how would I unstick the regulator?

If it hasn't broke. Take the motor off and try to slide the window. Be care full window may try to fall when you unbolt motor. Don't lose a finger. Have you tried shooting power to the motor yet?
