Title: Chevolet Blue Engine paint
Post by: Paul C10 on July 22, 2013, 09:20:34 am
Hi All,

I am want to repaint my '79 C10 250 I6 engine the original color, it was assembled by GM South Africa.

The color was "Chevrolet Blue", this is a dark blue color. I am looking for the paint code for this color. Apparantly this was a standard GM colour end of the 70's & early 80's.
It's a RHD version & I located in SA.

Can anyone help with the paint code for this color ?

Thanks Paul

If I am correct there was a GM Engine color called "Corporate blue" as well as "Chevrolet  blue", it was two different colors, anyone have any feedback ?

Corporate blue was not a dark color.

If you have a darker color then it may be specific to the assembly plant your engine is from.

I recently tried to find paint for an engine as well. I went to several parts stores that had everything except Chevy engine paint. Went to a body shop store and they said they were unable to find the formula to mix it. The only thing I could find were a few spray cans.
