Title: Just Bought This Nice 1976 C10 Stepside
Post by: travisdavid1987 on August 03, 2013, 04:19:25 pm
Here is my new ride got rid of the old 1981 stepside that I bought bit off more then I could chew for a work truck. This one is my daily driver now just seeing what ya'll think and if you have any ideas on what to do with this. I bought it a few weeks ago for $5500, which in my opinion for all the work that has been done to it is a steel, but if any of you think differently let me know, runs great though and transmission is solid. only issue I am having right now is I have to replace the seat belt's in the truck since it only has a driver seat belt that works, has a minor oil leak from where I could see is somewhere around where the transmission meets the engine, could be coming from the intake though I tried tightening the intake manifold down some more to see if that helped and it minimized the amount of oil being leaked so could be that. Finally a lug nut stud on the passenger side front tire is beat to s**t and needs to be replaced.

With that being said this truck is lowered and the jack that I have along with jack stands are not quiet big enough for me to jack the truck up by the frame and support it by the frame without getting the tires off the ground. Any ideas around where else I could jack the truck up and support it by jack stands at so that I can get the tire off the truck and replace this lug nut stud, advice would be highly appreciated!!

Very nice looking truck, Gus.  Use your jack as far as it will go, then block up the frame.  Then use your jack with a spacer and jack it up again until it is high enough.
