Title: Rust... Lots of rust.
Post by: 77GMCCountryBoy on August 04, 2013, 10:37:30 am
So on my 77 GMC Sierra Grande K15 I've recently saved the money to get my new floors and rockers like every 3rd gen needs. But... when I took that ugly 70s shag carpet out I noticed that the floor part that the seat sits on is rusted apart from the rocker. Anybody else have this problem and or knows how to fix that?

That is somewhat common.  Is the whole floor rusted or just at the seat base ?

The seat base is fine as a whole. But on the driver side the bottom side has disconnected from the rocker. I'll take a pic whenever I get back home

My C10 is starting to have the same problem. It's cause any water/snow dragged in from boots pools in that lip formed where the rocker and floor meet, it's pretty common. I'm going to chop out the rocker and just buy a 1/2 floor patch, and make my own kick panel replacement.

Just have at 'er, if you can't weld very well then it's good practice and if it looks ugly, it's gonna be covered up by the carpet anyway.
