Going to address the suspension first.......hoping for a great stance and a great ride!

1. Belltech 4/6 drop kit with Street Performance Shocks(3" spindles/1" springs/flip kit/c-notch)
2. Porterbuilt 1" forward tubular lower control arms/delrin bushings/ for stock coil spring application(centers front wheel in wheel opening correcting the known visual flaw when lowered/adds considerable castor gain approx 7 deg)
3. Stock upper control arms with MOOG K6184 problem solver control arm shafts/bushing kit(allows additional positive camber adjustment)
4. Stock rear leaf springs and shackle w/Energy suspension bushings(have run these before and like them alot)
5. Energy suspension body mounts
6. McGaughy's 12.5" Front Disc Brake Kit part# 63156

in for this!
how much did the moog parts cost all together?
im about to pull an $800 trigger on parts to finally get mine back on the road and a few front end parts are on the list
-
Not sure. I'll add it up and check back in :)
-
Make sure you take lots of pics of your progress.
-
Is the Moog control arm shaft stock to the C10's? How does it give more of a positive camber adjustment? Never heard of this and wold like to know more.

Me either. From the pic on Moog's website it looks like an offset shaft. I haven't taken delivery yet to verify but it's a part of their "problem solver" line.

I wanted to add power steering and air conditioning. Can't afford the A/C part right now so I'll only be adding the power steering to the in-liner.
Using these brackets:

Nice progress so far, are you doing anything besides head and carb. for the straight 6 ?
-
Thanks.....Other than the Clifford intake manifold and Weber Carb, I'll be installing Clifford shorty headers, a nice exhaust system (probably a two into one setup), new harmonic balancer, alternator, power steering pump.....stuff like that. Maybe a hotter cam in the future but not during this project.
-
awesome work.
-
thank you....going slower than anticipated but I suppose that's how these builds go
-
don't worry on the speed. its better to take your time and do it at your own pace, less stuff will get missed.

Update: one out of state move, a retirement, different starting point for a project truck, and new life as a civilian later I'm only one built shed away from getting back to this build! That's quite a statement I know. Currently I'm getting started on pouring a foundation for a shed that I will build so when completed I can store all things not conducive to old truck tinkering; bikes, boxes, shovels rakes etc etc. That stuff takes up too much space in a 3 car garage (aka, my workshop that's not quite a workshop yet). It's looking like in 2019 I'll be able to start working on my hobby again! New truck is a rust free 83 C10 2wd with a 250 inline 6 (yes keeping the inline), 3 on the tree (not keeping that).
