Title: Big block inplace of 250 six
Post by: Ronk on August 10, 2013, 11:19:26 am
Cant find the correct motor mounts. Need the ones that bolt to the engine, about 4 inches wide going into the rubber mount. Same as the six. Can those be used?  I,ve got 1974 chevy 1/2 ton shortbed 250 six.

Take a picture of what you have.  The older 72 and lower you could.  Haven't seen a 6 in one in a long time

This is the GM part number for the 454 "clamshell".

That number was used from 1973~2000. It may be discontinued, but it will give you someplace to start.

the mount that goes to the frame on the 6 will work but it has to be moved to the 8 posistion.
The engine mounts for a SBC will mount one in there also.  Done several that way.  Might have to run an electric fan...
