Title: '85 Needles, California, K-10 Quadrajet Question
Post by: jaswade on August 27, 2013, 04:35:58 pm
I have an '85 K-10 that was purchased in Needles, CA, which is a stone's throw from Arizona.   The QuadraJet says 17035292.  I will have to double check the other digits, but I think it is 0645/HMJ.

Does anyone out there think this is NOT a Cali carb?

I am looking to buy a rebuilt one, and am not sure if I should get a Cali carb or avoid one.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Part of that depends on where YOU'RE at.  Do you need to pass Cali emissions?

Best answer about finding out what it is as well as getting a rebuilt one properly set up for your truck is to talk to Sean Murphy at SMI.

After reading and talking to others I don't know why anyone would buy an aftermarket carb for more than a custom SMI carb. Definitely get ahold of Sean Murphy.
