I'm running a 350 with headers and dual exhaust, and originally I bought a set of Thrush Turbo's for the system (honestly I bought them just for the vintage name, haha) but you get what you pay for. They sounded cool years ago but now they sound kind of cheap to me, and an upgrade is needed. So in your professional opinions - what muffler sounds best on a dual exhaust system for a small block? I'm looking for something a little more high end.

IMO Hooker Aero Chamber Mufflers (http://www.summitracing.com/search?keyword=aero%20muffler&SortBy=None&SortOrder=Ascending) - moderately low backpressure, not annoyingly noisy, yet authoritative under hard acceleration

Sounds worth checking out. I also want something that sounds good and mean at idle; i'm stuck between the flowmaster 40 and 50 series.

What's under the hood??? If you have to ask maybe we shouldn't race...

well when i got mine done, i just got some off brand 18inch glass packs. at idle it sits there and rumbles slightly, not alot, but to know its there and sounds great. on acceleration it gives a good sound, but not overwhelming, but on hard take offs it lets others know your there. the kackle sounds amzing too, like old school.

Yeah, these turbo's sound a lot like glasspacks. Had them for 3 years, time for a change

I don't need mufflers but now I want some...

Settled on MagnaFlow Xl 3's instead, very deep and aggressive sounding.
