looking to change my 84 gmc 2wd lwb front suspension over to a solid front axle with leaf springs....for two reasons...right now i would like to get it off the ground around 4 inches or so..and second...eventually will add a transfer case and make it 4wd...any suggestions on how to go about...custom make hangers for leaf springs..or can I cut and weld ones from a C20?...any ideas? thanks

First off welcome to the site. You can unbolt and drill out all the rivets of your front suspension parts and use grade 8 bolts to bolt in the parts needed off a k-10.
But more than likely you will need to find a donor vehicle for all the parts, and if you have a donor vehicle you might as well swap frames and just use the 4x4 frame and put your truck stuff on it.

Thats what i meant k for 4x4...anyways if i go the route of a frame swap, my only cut/fab would be for the larger tranny/transfer care hump correct? Pretty sure the humps are a significant difference?...thanks

Correct, the transmission hump are taller on 4x4's.

you can beat your hump to fit the transfer case or swap humps or 3" body lift

buy this kit and put the rear springs from a donor on the front:

I cut all the brackets off my Blazer when converting it to 4x2, I am selling them also if you want them.
