Title: leaf spring Q?

I have a 79' C20. It has the 9 leaf setup. Will a set of 1/2 ton rear leaf springs work on my truck? Are they the same lenth, how are they different? thanks

The 1/2T will only work if you move the shackle/hanger to accomidate the shorter spring if it is a standard 1/2T spring.  The difference is 1/2T springs are 52" eye to eye, and 1/2T HD and 3/4T springs are 56" eye to eye.

What are you trying to accomplish other than reduce load capacity?

I did a front coil swap. i put 1/2T coils in the front. then I took 5 of the 9 leaves out and now it doesn't have a rake look anymore. so i took lift blocks to the rear and now the ride is umbarable. Just wanting a set of new springs even if they're 3/4T with 6 or 7 leaves. Don't want 9 leaf setup. I don't haul much anyways.
