Title: front stock coil question
Post by: jo3y1nf4nt3 on November 02, 2005, 11:52:00 pm
anyone know the stock measurement of the front coil for an '86 swb c10 2wd would be?  i may need to get some new ones since mine look like they have been plasma cut...or are they supposed to be rough cut on the ends?? i'm hoping the bozo before tried to cut the coil and heated them up so that would explain to me why the inside of my tires wear out prematurely.....gracias....  :hat

The end will be sheered smooth.  As for measurements, they are not going to be the same as compared to a brand new set.  Springs settle over time and they settle differently.  Giving you a free height measurement from a new set and from a used set will give different results.

Is the truck lowered?

Most of the big chain stores can get you springs.  Where are you located?
