Soooo, I dont think my kick down is working. 89, V2500 Burb with TBI 350.I metered the connector at the trans with the key on and held the pedal at WOT and found no voltage. I DO NOT have a switch at the top of the gas pedal, OR the throttle body. So, im assuming it computer controlled through the ECM(which is less than a year old) using the TPS to tell the trans when WOT is achieved. Can anybody confirm how the kickdown works on TBI models?

TCC is ECM controlled. But, check your brake light switch adjustment. If brake switch is even slightly out of adjustment it will defeat the TCC engagement.

I don't have a lock up converter. I was asking about the Kickdown.

Forgot you're running a 400. Kickdown is ECM controlled via a relay. See Section A - Page 48 (page 56) of the 1989 Wiring Manual (http://www.73-87chevytrucks.com/techinfo/7387CKMans//Wiring/ST_350_89_1989_GM_RV-P_Light_Trucks.pdf). Allow a few minutes for download.
