Title: Fuel Injection swap
Post by: darmentle on October 07, 2013, 04:48:32 pm
I was thinking of swapping off the carb to fuel injection . Has anyone done like the fuel injection setup on a Chevy Camaro Iroc Z ? i have heard of people doing it to like a 350 before. I want the Holley fuel injection kit but they are big money.

i helped my buddy install his MSD Atomic EFI kit, same thing as Holley and Edelbrock, it was pretty straight forward and made one heck of a difference. took his truck for a spin and it was like it was a whole new truck!

Are you totally against putting in a stock TBI system? If not find a complete donor ( wrecked, blowed up etc) and swap the harnesses its not that difficult however its time consuming and if you score a cheap donor a lot cheaper, with parts that are readily accessible at any parts store.

I started down the TPI path on my Jimmy but stopped when I found the rusted floors.  I will finish it one day...

TPI swaps were real popular "back in the day".

Lots of support for the TPI, however many of the components aren't being made new any more, so you may be looking at buying used.
