Title: 4l80e and np205 swap
Post by: bignick243 on October 13, 2013, 06:24:27 pm
I just scored a 4l80e out of a 2007 Chevy silverado. and a 10 spline NP205 transfer case. I'm looking at the advanced adapters web site and they have two 4l80e adapters.

One is SY-50-0410 for $496.55

The other one is 50-0410 for $627.21

They appear to be the same. Why is there such a huge price difference? Which one do I need?

So...... I called advanced adapters today. I guess the SY-50-0410 means scrap yard. The tech said it may have some blemishes and dings on the adapter casting. I went ahead and bought it. They said after whoever buys it the SY-50-0410 will disappear from the website unless they get another blemished one.

They also said if the 4l80e was a 2wd then it would bolt right up but if its a 4wd i have to buy the 2wd output shaft. For those looking to do this swap get a 2wd 4l80e...it will save you some bucks.
