I have been looking through this site for frame crack repairs and have yet to find a thread on the subject.
I have an 87 2wd 1/2 ton silverado. Frame cracked at the steering box : I welded in the reinforcement plate kit and replaced the bumper bracket from the frame to the bumper: that lasted a year or so , then the frame cracked behind the upper control arm on the same side. I have since made a bracket that bolts from inside the frame to the steering box and to the cross member and another from the frame at the control arm to the motor mount
With all of the 4wd trucks on this site hasn't any one else had trouble with their frames?

Been looking at the tech pages, but thanks for the links. It looks like I have done pretty much the same thing to my truck. I bought the frame kit and welded it in and made the supports inside the frame
