Title: carb flooding at random times

i have a 84 c10 with a 355 sbc 400 turbo trans with a edelbrock 600 and at random times the truck will start to flood when stopping or turning at random times if the engine cuts off it takes forever for it to start again

This will happen if the floats are adjusted incorrectly and the fuel level in the float bowl is therefore too high.  One fellow on another forum said he has never seen an Edelbrock's floats properly adjusted, new from the factory.  I checked mine and yep, not correctly adjusted.  I think they can go out of adjustment in shipping.  Anyway, you need to adjust the floats.  This involves taking off the top cover on the carburetor.  It is not particularly difficult to do.

im currently overseas serving and my dad is driving my truck so i will tell him and see if that fixes it thanks for the info
