Title: Tbi & shifting
Post by: DuckAholic1 on November 04, 2013, 10:11:06 pm
Wandering if there is a relationship between a sticky throttle & shifting problem with my 700r4.
I already know the throttle body housing is warped / sticks. My tv cable on tranny is adjusted correctly. Before I decide to rebuild tranny, is there a chance the two are related??
Should I first  rebuild the throttle body?? I hope this makes some sense!!!
What do you guys think?????

If the throttle plates stick as they just begin to open from fully closed, the throttle shaft probably needs to be bushed and the plates centered.  Although, in rare instances an exceedingly dirty TPS will cause the throttle to be sticky, sticking throttle plates in themselves have no affect on trans shifting, but may cause the vehicle to lurch from a stop.

Thank you bd!! The last thing you said is exactly what it does.
Also, I finally got the chance to see my machanic about these issue's & he said the same thing.
So, today I left the truck with him. He is replacing the throttle body housing, & the
Tranny with an updated rebuild. It'll be quite  a chunk of change when I pick it up on friday,
But I surely can't wait!!! Like a kid with a new toy!!! :o ;D
