Title: vacuum advance? again ?????
Post by: darmentle on November 05, 2013, 11:31:35 am
I just noticed that the previous owner never hooked it up where is a good place to plug it into on the carb i have a holley truck avenger. i haven't had any performance issue with disconnected.

Part2
So i connected the vacuum advance and now when i drive between 1500-2000RPM i hear a strange KEk kek kek sound coming from what i think is the distributor. it only does it under load and  goes away a little after 2000Rpm. Thoughts ?

Try this: www.holley.com/data/Products/Technical/199R10268-4rev2.pdf‎

sorry if its a wrong link, cant open it on my school laptop. there should be an open port somewhere to connect it too.

No, you should always set ignition timing with the vacuum advance disconnected, then re-connect it.

oh i was gonna ask since we are talking distributors is there a difference in a normal HEI and MSD HEI i got the 6al box and wires just haven't got around to installing it . I was debating on getting the MSD  distributor is it worth the money
